  • Notes: Since 2012 the MCMUA is providing All-In-One Single-Stream recycling for the Washington Township recycling depot. For the safety of the recycling depot's laborers, containers must be 25 pounds or less. Materials not properly prepared will not be accepted. Leaves and brush acceptance for non-commercial residents with 2 acres or less property.Leaves and Brush is only acceopted between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 each year.
  • Limitations: The Center is open to Washington Township residents unless otherwise advertised. For the Safety of the Staff. containers must be 35 pounds or LESS. Commercial and Institutional facilities may bring materials to the Center on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the month.

Acceptable Material - Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One

Aluminum Containers (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Rinse thoroughly (no residue allowed) and commingle with recyclables.
Brown Paper Bags (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Commingle with other recyclables.
Chipboard/Paperboard (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Commingle with other recyclables. Flatten all boxes. Include beverage carriers, cereal, pasta and facial tissue boxes, paper towel rolls.
Corrugated Cardboard (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Flatten and mix with other recyclables, and do not bundle or tie.
Glass Containers (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Remove lids, rinse the glass and commingle with recyclables. Put metal lids into container; do not put metal lids back onto glass bottles and jars.
Newspaper (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Mix with other recyclables, and do not tie or bundle.
Plastic #1 (PETE) Bottles (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Empty, rinse and commingle with recyclable mix. Do not put caps/lids back onto bottles. Put caps/lids into the garbage.
Plastic #1 (PETE) Food/Bev. Containers (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Empty, rinse and commingle with recyclable mix. Do not put caps/lids back onto containers. Put caps/lids into the garbage.
Plastic #2 (HDPE) Bottles (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Empty, rinse and commingle with recyclable mix. Do not put caps/lids back onto bottles. Put caps/lids into the garbage.

Steel (Tin) Containers (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Empty, rinse and commingle with recyclables. Aerosol cans must be empty. Remove plastic cap/lids, and put them into the garbage.
Telephone Books (Recycling - Single-Stream - All-In-One) Also include paperback or softcover books. Do not include hardcover books.

Acceptable Material - Recycling

Brush/Tree Parts (Recycling) Must be tied and bundled, cannot exceed 3" in diameter and cannot exceed 3' in length. Brush and leaves should not be placed on the roadway. Placing brush and leaves on the roadway may result in a summons being issued. Leaves and Brush are accepted at regular recycling hours between September and December ONLY Brush and Leaves may be dropped off by non-commercial residents from properties of 2 acres or less. Only acceopted between Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 each year.
Christmas Trees (Recycling) The trees should be dropped off at the wood chip area on the immediate left side as you enter the facility (adjacent to the road salt storage shed) All lights, ornaments, decorations, etc. must be removed from the trees before drop off.

The trees will be shredded and wood chips are available for free at the same location as long the supply lasts. Residents have to load the wood chips on their trucks/vans. No pick up or delivery of trees or wood chips.

The disposal area is open seven days a week. NO ARTIFICIAL TREES ARE ACCEPTED.

E-Waste - Computers, TVs, etc. (Recycling)

A drop-off receptacle for the disposal of home electronics is now available at the Recycling Center. Accepted electronics include the following: televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice, fax machines, VCRs and radios. Absolutely no curbside collection.

Leaves (Recycling) Leaves must be bagged and bags must be removed by residents at the time of drop-off. Brush and leaves should not be placed on the roadway. Placing brush and leaves on the roadway may result in a summons being issued. Motor Oil (Used) (Recycling) Residents must bring thier own container which will be returned to them after being emptied
Textiles (Recycling) The clothing donation boxes are for clothing only. No furniture or other household materials will be accepted. Place clothing in the clothing donation box located at the recycling center. Please do not place clothing on the ground in front of the clothing container.
