Free
Water Educational Programs for 4th and 5th Graders
- The Morris County MUA is offering free water
education programs to schools within their service area (Denville,
Dover, Mine Hill, Mt. Arlington, Parsippany, Randolph, Roxbury,
Wharton). Both programs are for 4th & 5th graders.
- 45-Minute Program - Through
this program, students will gather information about public water
supply in New Jersey. Students will also discover what
watersheds are and how our behavior affects them, along with ways
to protect and conserve water. Finally, the students will
discuss the types of land cover in New Jersey, and find out why
recharge areas and buffer zones are so important. This
program covers Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies
Core Curriculum Content Standards.
90-Minute
Program - Students will learn the paths water takes in the
water cycles and the importance of the water cycle. Students
will also learn about watersheds and water conservation, as well
as how land use affects the quantity and quality of surface and
groundwater supplies. This program covers Language Arts, Math,
Physical Education, Science and Social Studies Core Curriculum
Content Standards.
