Protect our public water supplyThe MCMUA actively supports many efforts focused on protecting and restoring the environment including:

  • Participating in many environmental organizations
  • Sponsoring river cleanups
  • Providing passive recreational natural areas
  • Purchasing open space to protect the water supply, the aquifers and their recharge areas.

Water Conservation News

  • July 2005 - Adopt-the Alamatong program announced for Girl Scouts - Do you want to make a difference in your community, and learn about water at the same time? Are you a Morris Area Girl Scout, looking for Service Hours and/or interested in earning the Adopt-the-Alamatong patch?  If so, the MCMUA has the project for you!  Click here for more information about adopting the Alamatong.

  • August 6, 2002 - Local Water Emergency Rescinded - MCMUA rescinds the local water emergency and implementation of Phase I of the Local Water Emergency Regulations.

  • May 1, 2002 - Water Wheels Made Available
    MCMUA obtained a limited number of Water Wheels - Your Guide To Home Water Conservation.  If you would like your own Water Wheel contact the MCMUA at 973-285-8387 or email us at info@mcmua.com to request one.  Click here to read the water conservation tips listed on the Water Wheel.

  • April 9, 2002 - Local Water Emergency Declared
    MCMUA adopts resolution declaring a local water emergency implementing Phase I of the Local Water Emergency Regulations.  This water emergency was rescinded on August 6, 2002.  Click here to read the water emergency declaration resolution.

  • February 27, 2002 - Water Conservation Practices suggested by the MCMUA and the Board of Chosen Freeholders  Click here to review the suggested water conservation practices.

  • June 12, 2001 - Local Water Emergency Declared

  • March 7, 2000 - Local Water Emergency Regulations are Adopted
