ParentDisposal Facilities

In accordance with a April 2002* proposal to provide disposal capacity to the MCMUA in conjunction with operating its two transfer stations and providing transportation from the transfer stations to the disposal facilities, Waste Management of New Jersey will use the following disposal facilities for the final  disposition of the solid waste delivered to the two MCMUA transfer stations.  In January 2003 the MCMUA and Waste Management of New Jersey executed a 5-year contract for the provision of these disposal, operations and transportation services.

    5,500 ton per day permitted 512.9 acre sanitary landfill.
      
  • Keystone Sanitary Landfill, Inc. *

    Permitted as 1,500 ton per day (processing), 2,800 ton per day (receiving) mass burn waste to energy facility.

* On February 11, 2003, Waste Management submitted a request and supplemental information seeking approval to use two additional disposal facilities (Keystone and Commonwealth sanitary landfills) in addition to the four facilities originally proposed in its April 2002 proposal to the MCMUA.
