provided below. For 2010 the MCMUA will run 4 programs similar to those conducted in 2009
but we are trying a new location at Chatham High School in the
spring. Finally, please remember about the MCMUA's
permanent household hazardous waste
facility located in Mt. Olive which is open throughout the
year by appointment.

The MCMUA's disposal days

- Latex
Paints or Products (dry latex products out and throw
them out)
- Grout, Spackle, and Joint
Compound: dispose
in garbage.
- Empty Containers - Once
a material has been used up, the empty container should
be thrown in the garbage.
- Tires - Check
with your town or call the MCMUA at
973-829-8585.
- Construction Waste
- Medical Waste
- Call the MCMUA at

- Explosives
- Smoke Detectors
- Return to
manufacturer listed on back.
- Drums of any material and/or large quantities
of waste - these must be
transferred to pails no larger than 5-gallons prior to delivery.
- Alkaline
batteries - these are non-hazardous and should be disposed of in
the garbage

Highly Reactive
or Unstable Materials: Items
such as benzoyl peroxide, gunpowder, chlorine (wet or gaseous),
dioxane, any of the “ethers,” ethyl nitrate, any of the
“nitro” compounds, phosphorous, picric acid, potassium
perchlorate,
pyridine,
potassium and/or sodium metals, uranium/uranyl
compounds, old
chemistry sets, etc., call (973) 631-5109 for approval prior to
transporting any of these materials. - see the
"Caution" below.
- Business Wastes - HHW
Cleanup Days are specifically for
Morris County
residents and businesses are not allowed to participate.
Business waste is
only accepted at the MCMUA’s
Permanent
HHW Facility located in Mount Olive Township.
- Unknown Materials:
If unlabeled or unidentifiable, please call (973)
631-5109 for authorization to bring the material to
the MCMUA’s HHW Disposal Program.
Note: These disposal days are provided for Morris County households only. Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity
Generators (commercial) and/or Out-of-County generators must utilize the permanent facility
