ParentWaste Reduction

Today, we are awakening to the fact that not all of the items that were buried in the landfill should have been. With an emphasis on recycling and waste reduction, the MCMUA is re-evaluating standard concepts of trash disposal and is searching for more efficient ways to deal with municipal solid waste.

Reuse is a more cost-effective and environmentally-sound approach than landfilling or even recycling. Reuse promotes both the environmental benefits of conserving our nation’s natural resources and of keeping valuable materials out of landfills. Communities that develop programs to conserve and reuse resources are also enhancing the growth of their business and charitable communities and protecting the environment.
