After you leave your waste on the floor is when we get to work.  Using front-end bucket loaders the waste is pushed to the rear of the tipping floor where openings in the floor provide efficient access to open top transfer trailers waiting for their load.

These transfer trailers enter a tunnel at the north end of the facility between the household hazardous waste facility and the scalehouse.  This tunnel leads to giant slots in the tipping floor used as garbage hampers.  There are heavy duty truck scales that weigh the truck as it is filled.  This assists in assuring the trucks are loaded to their 80,000 pound gross weight capacity, but not above it.

When the truck is filled the transfer trailer is pulled up the outbound tunnel ramp to  tarping racks which straddle the tunnel exit.  The truck is tarped and pulled out of the tunnel to the facility's holding area waiting to be transported to the landfill.
